UFC: Jon Jones wants to ‘slap’ middleweight champion Israel Adesanya
Jon Jones and UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya have been going at each other for weeks & recently, the former claimed that he wants to slap the latter.
Both Jon Jones and UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya have been going at each other for weeks and recently, Jones has taken another shot at Adesanya. Both the fighters are set to wrestle each other in the future, but Jones wants the match soon. The middleweight champion in an interview with an American media network revealed that the match won’t take place before 2021, as he is scheduled to defend his belt a few times prior to that. After hearing this comment, Jones took to Instagram and commented that he can’t wait for 2021 come faster as he wants to “slap” Adesanya.
“Man I can’t wait to eventually slap this dude, 30 years old claiming to draw energy his favourite cartoon. 2021 please hurry up and get here,” Jones wrote in an Instagram comment.
Jon Jones has not entered the Octagon since July when he defeated Thiago Santos by split decision. But, before defeating Santos, ‘Bones’ defeated Anthony Smith. Adesanya, on the other hand, recently defeated Robert Whittaker via TKO and became the middleweight champion. And before that, he defeated Kelvin Gastelum to become the interim middleweight champ. Adesanya, who is also known as “The Last Stylebender”, is currently undefeated and is one of the biggest stars in UFC.
Because of the current physique and record of the two players, UFC would like to stage a fight between the duo because of their massive following. The two are currently the biggest names UFC has in the middleweight division and despite Adesanya saying no one cares about Jones’ fights, fans would fill the stadium to see the fight. According to reports, if a fight between them happens, it will take place in Las Vegas at the new Raiders Stadium.
