Match highlights:
Tournament’s leading point scorer Pawan Sehrawat was one of the star performers for the Bengaluru-based side as he registered another Super 10 to his name in the ongoing tournament. In a see-saw opening five minutes of the game, both teams were tied at 4-4 before Pawan secured a two-point raid to make it 6-4 in favour of Bengaluru. However, the Fazel Atrachali-led U Mumba took a quick lead in the second quarter, thanks to some smart raids by Athul MS and Abhishek Singh. The Mumbai-based side, however, squandered their lead as the reigning champions Bengaluru secured a flurry of points to end the half-way stage at 17-11.
The 17-11 lead soon became 28-16 by the 27th minute as U Mumba were slowly slipping away from the game. However, due to a spirited comeback by the U Mumba team, the huge deficit was then reduced to just four points with four minutes still left in the play. With better tackling and some successful raids by Abhishek Singh, U Mumba were looking all set to stage an unlikely win during the dying stages of the match. The deficit further reduced to just two points before the pendulum swung again in Bengaluru’s favour as they initiated a crucial tackle and staged a successful raid in the final two minutes to give themselves a two-point win. Eventually, the game ended in favour of Bengaluru Bulls with a 35-33 scoreline.
