Among the most popular wrestlers of the country, Geeta and Babita Phogat, expressed grief at the death of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers in a dastardly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. Conveying their respects and tribute to the martyrs and condolences to their families, the sister duo said the country isn’t weak to not take revenge for the sacrifices of the martyrs.
In a tweet in Hindi, Geeta wrote that she conveys her respects to the sacrifices of the brave soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. The wrestler expressed her deep condolences with the families of the martyred and added that she is praying to the Almighty for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers.
She also shared an animated image to represent the grief that the country is experiencing at the death of our soldiers and saluted the ‘bravehearts’ for the ‘supreme sacrifice’ for the nation.
Sharing a picture of the destruction created by the dastardly blast, Babita in Hindi tweeted that the visuals have horrified her and that she was at a loss of words to express her thoughts. The wrestler prayed that the Almighty gives peace to the souls of the martyrs and strength to their grieving families. She added that we weren’t so weak to not take revenge for the sacrifices of the martyrs, and that it was the time to teach the enemies a lesson.
In another tweet, Babita wrote the immediate step for the country is to punish the traitors. Babita added only they could have an issue with love for the country. Lashing out at the betrayers, she wrote that they have sold their principles and that they were the so-called ‘doves’ who went to the court to save the anti-national forces.
On Thursday, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion rocked a 70-vehicle convoy of CRPF jawans that was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar. According to Press Trust of India, 40 jawans have been martyred in the attack and several others injured. Terror organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility for the attack.
