Former WWE superstar Rick Bognar, also known as ‘Fake’ Razor Ramon, passed away at the age of 49. The news was confirmed by his brother Ken Bognar on Facebook. Ken posted a note on Facebook which stated that his brother Rick passed away on Saturday evening. However, the cause of his death was not specified.
'Fake' Razor Ramon: WWE background
Bognar started his career under the name of Rick Titan and later downed the moniker of Big Titan. However, his greatest achievement was taking over the character of Razor Ramon when the real Ramon, Scott Hall and his tag team partner Kevin Nash decided to leave WWE to join WCW. WWE had retained the rights to the characters Razor Ramon and Diesel, so later they decide to reintroduce Rick Bognar as the ‘fake’ Razor Ramon and wrestler Glenn Jacobs as ‘fake’ Diesel. Glenn Jacobs, who went on to become the demon Kane posted a heartfelt tribute to his former wrestling partner on Twitter. He wrote:
Sorry to hear about the passing of Rick "Titan" Bognar. After his wrestling career, best known for his runs in Japan, Rick became a very successful life coach and speaker, helping people work through life's difficulties and find inner peace. #RIP

While playing fake Ramon, Rick participated in some great matches and proved that fans do not care about the characters nearly as much as the wrestlers. He left WWE after his contract expired in late 1990. He later went on to join NJPW, but suffered a neck injury and decided to retire from the game. Rick fought his last professional match in 1999.
In a recent interview, Bognar said that he hoped his work in wrestling will become his legacy. He said that he felt the sadness, the emptiness, the melancholy of it all. All of that had a huge negative effect on him, especially when he was on the road. However, he wanted people to transform, so they can find the same kind of happiness he found while wrestling.
