Mick Foley became one of the most successful wrestlers because of the many characters that he played throughout his career in the WWE/WWF. He took on the three different personas in his career – the surprising psycho Cactus Jack, the crazy hippy, known as Dude Love and everyone’s favourite sock wielding mental patient, Mankind. All these faces were unique in their own way, but they all had one thing in common, a willingness to take craziness to a whole new level.

Mick Foley as Dude Love

This was the first-ever character Foley had created and first, he used it in his own videos which he used to shoot at his house. The video used to show Foley as Dude Love jumping off the roof and doing a bunch of other crazy stuff. The character was then introduced in WWF in 1997, where he won the tag team championship Stone Cold Steve Austin. However, the character was short-lived as the duo had to forfeit their title after Austin had to leave WWF for a while to recover from his neck injury.

Mick Foley as Cactus Jack

This was the character which made Foley a household name and fans used to travel miles just to see him do something crazy. Mick Foley as Cactus Jack survived almost everything and still used to get up and fight. In a fight against Big Van Vader, Foley’s ear was torn off. In Japan, he suffered third-degree burns in an exploding ring. But, he still came back to take his body to many different punishments.

Mick Foley as Mankind

In 1996, Foley came back to WWE, but this time he turned into Mankind. Mankind was a deranged psychopath who used to attack his opponent by shoving his fingers down opponents’ throats. Wearing a leather mask on his face, Foley was a part of many character-defining matches. As Mankind, Foley faced The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match which is still one of the most horrifying moments in WWE’s history. Years passed and the character of Mankind became famous worldwide, but it was Foley’s connection with The Rock which gathered everyone’s attention. The duo went on to form The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection which provided WWE with some hilarious moments.
