In a series of tweets over the past few days, Matt Hardy has made it evident that he will be returning to WWE action. After Jeff Hardy injured his knee in April, the Hardy Brothers were forced to vacate their SmackDown Tag-Team Championships. Since then, Matt has only sporadically appeared on WWE programming and has been totally off the radar for some time now.

When a fan replied to a WWE tweet asking where Matt Hardy was, Hardy replied with a video of him working out and the caption "Waiting on the call." This tweet was very evidently teasing his certain return to WWE programming. Only a few days ago, Hardy had tried to uplift a dejected fan's hopes by confirming his return.
You will. Patience, my friend.. I’m gonna be in a ring & on your TV for a while. Within the next 5 months, I’m confident that one way or another, the #BROKENBrilliance shall be RESURRECTED. https://t.co/GWVv6Te0yK

When another fan asked if Hardy was upset about being underutilized by the WWE, Hardy tweeted at the fan with this.
No. I had to return to @WWE to complete my redemption story. WWE made me, I’ll always be grateful to them. Disliked how I left in 2010 & felt I owed #WWE a debt. Came back & repaid it. The WWE employees have treated me great. https://t.co/EfGiQbtQi4

I wish to spend my last few years in the wrestling industry being as creative & productive as possible. I have some hard decisions in the coming months & the wrestling fan’s opinions matter to me. What did you think of The Ultimate Deletion? HERE IT IS- https://t.co/vzoWDewN3M

In August, Hardy had also interacted with his followers on Twitter to understand their reception of his "The Ultimate Deletion" gimmick. This may be Hardy's last stint as a full-time wrestler in the WWE. Hardy's brother, Jeff, is also supposed to return to WWE action but a driving incident has him caught up with court proceedings.
