Orton had been teasing a move to All-Elite Wrestling (AEW) for some time now. Two weeks ago, he posted a picture on Instagram teasing a move to the promotion in a post which also tagged AEW mainstays Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes along with some current WWE wrestlers. A lot was speculated as it was reported that Orton's contract would be expiring by 2019 and the post was signalling his move to AEW. Orton's move to AEW would have added value to the brand which is marketed as the WWE's main rival. Orton is currently 39 and will be 44 by the time his WWE contract expires.
