Butler says his historic Game 3 performance isn't best of his career
Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler says his performance in Sunday's NBA Finals win wasn't his best in his career despite putting up a historic triple-double.
Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler says his performance in Sunday's NBA Finals win wasn't his best in his career despite putting up a historic triple-double.
Butler had 40 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists in Miami’s 115-104 Game 3 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Out of the 8,175 game appearances by players in the NBA Finals, Butler was the first to have a 40-point triple-double in a finals win, and one of only three with one regardless of outcome.
But for Butler, his performance doesn't come close to some of the efforts he put in as a teenager playing against men during his high school days.
"I really dominated when I was like 17," Butler said. "So this is up there, but back then I was killing it."
