NBA: Carmelo Anthony will miss games vs Spurs, Rockets ahead of Trail Blazers debut
According to NBA reports, Carmelo Anthony will miss games against the Spurs and Rockets before his Trail Blazers debut against the New Orleans Pelicans.

According to NBA reports, Carmelo Anthony will miss games with the San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers before making his debut with the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night, on November 13. The same source added that Anthony is still left to complete a physical with the Trail Blazers, which will take place on Sunday. The physical is necessary to finalise his one-year non-guaranteed contract with the team.

Anthony signed a one-year non-guaranteed contract with the Trail Blazers on Thursday. As per NBA reports, the former NBA All-Star will be paid $14,490 for every day the player is on the Trail Blazers' roster. If he is on the poster till January, his deal will be converted into a guaranteed deal.
Carmelo Anthony will earn $14,490 while on the roster in Portland. The contract becomes fully guaranteed if he is not waived by Jan. 7.

The forward is a 10-time NBA All-Star and has a career average of 24 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists. Houston Rockets traded him after played only 10 games with them last season. Anthony averaged at 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 40.5% from the field and 32.8% from beyond the arc. The Trail Blazers have had slow 4-8 (win-loss record) start to the NBA 2019-20 season. With Zach Collins and Jusuf Nurkic sidelined due to injuries, Anthony will prove a solid replacement. A few days ago, the player made a statement saying that he will definitely be playing the NBA in 2020. Soon after, the news of the Trail Blazers signing him was confirmed.
