First MLB hit for Korean star Kim Ha-seong in Padres spring loss to Cubs

Kim Ha-seong sparked a double play in the field then later singled for his first major league hit in the San Diego Padres 1-0 spring loss to the Chicago Cubs on Monday.

Kim, a slugging shortstop who starred in South Korea's KBO before coming to North America this past winter, was one of the Padres top offseason additions along with Japanese righthander Yu Darvish.

He is expected to help the club challenge the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West division
