Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom is pining for a comeback in basketball. The former NBA/reality-TV star last played for the New York Knicks in the NBA. His basketball comeback was handed a setback when he was released from rapper and actor Ice Cube’s three-on-three basketball league the 'BIG3' due to diminished performance.
A two-time NBA champion and a FIBA World Championship gold medallist, Lamar Odom's career took a downturn during the later stage. Just under a decade ago, Odom was arguably one of the most talented players on the LA Lakers' roster, along with Kobe Bryant. A more than decent playmaker during the peak of his career, Lamar Odom may not have been the most consistent player in the NBA despite showing bundles of promise. He was, however, one of the most underrated players to have played for the LA Lakers.
Up until 2010, a number of NBA fans believed that it was almost a shame that Odom hadn't won an NBA Sixth Man of the Year yet. In 2011, however, those concerns were put to rest. Following a battle with substance abuse and addiction, Lamar Odom's career was in a downward spiral; a spiral that led to some major health problems for the former Lakers' star.
Lamar Odom Net worth
Lamar Odom had an NBA career that spanned stints with the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, LA Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks. Odom also earned money through regular appearances in E!’s reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians as the husband of Khloe Kardashian. Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian also got their own show titled Khloé & Lamar which premiered in 2011. Thanks to these stints on and off the basketball court, Lamar Odom currently has a net worth of $30 million.
Lamar Odom's salary
Lamar Odom's big payday came when he signed for Miami Heat in August 2003. Odom began his career with a 3-year $7.9 million contract with Los Angeles Clippers. At the end of his contract, the Clippers kept him for an additional year for the price tag of $3.6 million. After the Clippers, however, Odom signed for Miami Heat on a 6-year $65 million contract. His stint in Miami did not last long, however. He was then traded to the Lakers, who signed Odom on a 4-year $33 million contract in 2009. Lamar Odam is engaged to Sabrina Parr, a health and life coach.
