One year and counting - the amount of time that has passed since 10-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony last played in the NBA. The former Knicks power forward has not played for an NBA team since he was let go by Houston Rockets last season. Carmelo Anthony has admitted that he was surprised no NBA team snapped him up for the 2019-20 season. However, a number of NBA teams will want to take a look at the 2013 NBA scoring champion. Carmelo Anthony was in attendance at the 25th Annual Lou Gehrig Sports Awards Benefit by the ALS Association Greater New York Chapter earlier this month. When asked if he was open to getting back on the court, Anthony replied by saying, "2000 percent. Make that the headline". Here's a look at five teams that could look towards signing the former Knicks star.

5. New York Knicks

If Carmelo Anthony wants to make a headline, the Knicks could do well to give him one. Anthony was made as a scapegoat for the team's troubles even though the Knicks had been struggling for decades. This season too, the Knicks haven't started too well. A return for Carmelo Anthony, therefore, would earn them props both, on and off the field.

4. Golden State Warriors

With the state-of-the-art Chase Center at their disposal, the Warriors were expected to kick on and dominate the NBA this season. The Warriors are likely to be without Steph Curry and Klay Thompson for months owing to injuries. While signing Carmelo Anthony won't go a long way in fixing their defensive woes, he could ease the scoring burden on D’Angelo Russell.

3. Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals last year. This year, however, the Blazers have flattered to deceive. They even went on to lose a game in which Damian Lillard scored a career-high of 60 points. It is clear that the Blazers are lacking a scoring option alongside Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. Who better to turn to than a player who was the 2013 NBA scoring champion?

2. Miami Heat

A 7-3 record so far means that Miami Heat are currently doing well in the Eastern Conference. They do, however, lack scoring options from the bench. Enter Carmelo Anthony. The Miami Heat offence could clearly use some work, and pairing Carmelo Anthony with free-agent acquisition Jimmy Butler could go some way in solving Miami Heat's offensive problems.

1. Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks are likely to be without Khris Middleton for over a month due to a leg injury. Having allowed Malcolm Brogdon to leave for the Indiana Pacers, the Bucks look like they may be a little short on firepower. Adding Carmelo Anthony to their ranks could help them in the long run. It does, however, remain an unlikely prospect.
