Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving joined the Brooklyn Nets for NBA 2019-20. Durant was a part of the Golden State Warriors, and Irving played for Boston Celtics.
Kevin Durant left the Golden State Warriors and joined the Brooklyn Nets four months ago. The NBA All-Star went to the Nets in a trade deal and a protected first-round pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. The Warriors got D'Angelo Russell, Treveon Graham and Shabazz Napier. Durant signed a reported $164 million with the Nets. They also signed Kyrie Irving for a four-year contract of $141 million.

According to a sports site, both Irving and Durant went on vacation last summer. During their vacation, both players decided to team up and join the Nets together. According to the reports, the Nets were an option since last summer. Durant's injury also played a major role an affected the situation. Apparently the Knicks were also an option. The same source commented on Irving joining the Nets. According to another sports site, the Nets were planning to land Irving last summer. Irving is a fan of the Hall of Fame point guard Jason Kidd and grew up watching various Nets games. The same source said that despite people thinking that Irving likes the attention, he is a basketball purist and is one of the purest minds. Irving had also made a statement at the beginning, where he stated that he would sign with the Boston Celtics again if they wanted him again. This season, Irving is averaging at 29.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 7 assists.
