Pakistan was handed a hefty defeat at the hands of Bangladesh when both sides locked horns in Rawalpindi. It was embarrassing for the home side as they lost the match-up by ten wickets to slump to lose their lead by 0-1 in the two-match red-ball series. It is a new down low as PAK has been in a perturbed state, and losing the match heavily impacts their morale. While they have a chance to draw the series, losing the first match has attracted critics.

Ex-PAK Skipper Goes All Out Over Men in Green's Test Performance at Rawalpindi
Former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt gets critical of the Men in Green's shambolic performance against Bangladesh Rawalpindi. He particularly ridiculed the bowlers' outing and claimed that there is a long list of incompetence and mismanagement done by the team.
"Pitch was not the issue. The quality of bowling was. Our bowling coach said that the pitch didn't turn out the way we wanted. Bowlers also said that the pitch was not good. How does that make sense? Especially when Pakistan got bowled out inside two sessions. Their pacers got the wickets of our top-order batters before the spinners took responsibility in the middle. So, this is a long list of mismanagement and incompetence.
"Where should I start? Playing four fast bowlers, the declaration, the line and length, everything went wrong. I think this is the first time that the average speed of Bangladesh bowlers was higher than ours. They looked more fit than us. Our junior fast bowlers did better than our senior ones. So, there is a list of mistakes made by the team. Where should we start? Who should we pick and blame because the list goes on," Salman Butt said in his recent YouTube video.

The Shan Masood-led Pakistan side hit a new low when they lost the first test match against the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh at Rawalpindi. The Men in Green have been going through a slump from the T20 World Cup after they failed to qualify for the Super 8 stage and lost to Afghanistan in the group stage. While all that happened under Babar Azam's captaincy, Shan Masood's leadership could not help them bounce back either.
The only option Pakistan now has is to draw the series against Bangladesh, which will be hosted in Rawalpindi from August 30.
