All-rounder Hanuma Vihari to continue his stay in Andhra despite past grievances, assures commitment

The Hanuma Vihari saga has been one of the biggest dramas in domestic cricket after the star all-rounder was aggrieved with his stay after he had conflicts with one of his teammates and the ACA did not support him. Vihari was unceremoniously uncrowned as the team's skipper and felt that he had lost his self-respect. He was in a war with the cricket association's governing body. But since then, several things have transpired, and the India all-rounder has rekindled his thoughts and re-assured his commitment to Andhra Cricket.

All-rounder Hanuma Vihari to stay in Andhra, represent ACA despite getting NOC to leave

Hanuma Vihari, an Indian all-rounder, declared in February that he would "never play for Andhra again" because he had lost his "self-respect" following his forced resignation as the squad's captain. The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) reportedly handed Vihari a show-cause notice in March of this year after he claimed the governing body had abruptly dismissed him from his captaincy, according to a PTI report. However, the 30-year-old has promised to represent Andhra after receiving assurances from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the state's ruling party, that his complaints with the state association would be taken seriously.

"I'm so happy to meet minister Nara Lokesh gaaru (TDP general secretary) today, and he assured me that I will have full support coming back to Andhra Cricket Association. I am so happy meeting him, and I have got full assurance after meeting him. I understand his aspirations for the Andhra Cricket Association. It's good to be back in Andhra cricket. What I faced in the last couple of years was a lot of humiliation. I lost my self-respect.

"I wanted to leave Andhra Cricket Association and move to another state, but I've now got the assurance. So, I am looking forward to coming back and serving Andhra for a long time to come," the all-rounder Vihari said.

The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association approached Hanuma Vihari shortly after he declared his desire to quit Andhra. The all-rounder was awarded a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) by ACA earlier this month, but he altered his mind, leaving the MPCA disgruntled.

Hanuma Vihari, the 30-year-old all-rounder, has played 16 Tests for India, accumulating 839 runs in 28 innings for an average of 33.56, including a century and five half-centuries.
