Asia Cup 2023: PCB officials in big trouble after breaking ICC Code of Conduct- Report

The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) officials Umar Farooq Kalson and Adnan Ali can find themselves in trouble for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct.

Amidst the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) can find itself in big trouble. Some of the officials of the PCB are alleged to be involved in gambling and also visit a casino in Sri Lanka. As per a report by PTI, PCB media head Umar Farooq Kalson and General Manager Adnan Ali were spotted in a casino in Colombo in some of the viral pictures on social media.

PCB officials to be punished for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct? 

PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) officials Umar Farooq Kalson and Adnan Ali can be punished by the ICC for breaching their code of conduct. As per the ICC Code of Conduct, players and team officials are prohibited from visiting any type of gambling place. This can be the main reason behind the trouble with the PCB officials who have travelled to Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup. As per a report by PTI, the PCB official duo had claimed that they just went to the place for dinner. The ICC Anti-Corruption Unit could soon be summoned into the matter and an investigation could take place.

PCB manager Moin Khan suspended in 2015 for his involvement in gambling

It is not the first time a PCB official has been alleged of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct due to gambling, Former Pakistani skipper and manager in the 2015 ODI World Cup, Moin Khan, was called off by their board in the middle of the tournament as he and his wife were spotted in a casino in Christchurch, New Zealand. 

Moin Khan, at that time, had claimed that he had just visited the place for dinner. But the then PCB chief Shahryar Khan had sacked him for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct.
