KL Rahul announced his India comeback with a welcoming run-a-ball hundred. He was not supposed to start in the Super 4 match against Pakistan, but Shreyas Iyer's back spasm paved the way for Rahul to bat at No.4. He, along with Kohli, stitched an unbeaten 233-run partnership for the third wicket to power India to a total of 356/2 in 50 overs.
In reply, Pakistan's plane never really took off as India bowlers continued to make inroads. Kuldeep Yadav returned with the figures of 5/25 in just eight overs, while Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur picked up one wicket each to bundle out Pakistan for 128 in 32 overs. After India's convincing win, the Men in Blue moved on to the top of the Super 4 table.
India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka now have two points each on the board, while Bangladesh are out of the race to the final after losing to Sri Lanka in their must-win match. Only two teams out of India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will progress to the final. It is worth to note that India and Sri Lanka have played only one match each, whereas Pakistan have competed in two matches.
India and Pakistan have never clashed in the Asia Cup final in the history of the tournament. So, if India and Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in their matches then cricket fans would be able to witness IND vs PAK final. However, if Sri Lanka beat either of the two, then IND vs PAK final will be in danger.

Scenarios for Asia Cup 2023 Finals
For IND vs SL final: If IND win against SL and SL defeat PAK. IND can still qualify if both their games are rained out as they will end on 4 points with a healthy NRR of +4.560. If the SL vs PAK game is rained out, SL still go through the finals based on their NRR
For IND vs PAK final: If IND and PAK both beat SL in the Super 4s stage. IND still qualifies if their remaining games are washed out. Even if IND loses their remaining games and PAK manages to beat SL, both IND and SL will have 2 points each and IND qualify because of their NRR
For SL vs PAK final: This might only be possible if IND loses both their matches with a huge margin and is tied with either of the two teams with 2 points with a very bad NRR which seems unlikely as of now.
