BCCI Finally Accepts Gautam Gambhir's Request; Morne Morkel to Become Bowling Coach
Morne Morkel, the former South African fast bowler, is set to be officially named as the new bowling coach of Indian cricket team.
In a significant development for Indian cricket, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed to Gautam Gambhir's request for Morne Morkel to take over as the team's full-time bowling coach. This decision comes during the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, with Morkel expected to assume his new role ahead of the next Test series against Bangladesh.
Currently, Sairaj Bahutule is serving as the bowling coach for India during their tour of Sri Lanka, with T Dilip handling fielding duties and Ryan ten Doeschate and Abhishek Nayar assisting Gambhir. Bahutule's tenure will conclude with the end of the Sri Lankan series, though Dilip is likely to retain his position.

Morne Morkel to become India's bowling coach
Morne Morkel, the former South African fast bowler, is set to be officially named as the new bowling coach. Morkel, who has previously worked with Gambhir at the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and played for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) under Gambhir's captaincy, was the preferred choice of the Indian head coach. According to reports, Gambhir's request for Morkel has been fulfilled by the BCCI, signaling a strategic shift in the team's coaching setup.
Excitement is building around this change, with many eager to see how Morne Morkel's expertise will influence India's bowling strategies. According to reports from Cricbuzz, Morkel will take charge of the bowling department starting with the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. His official appointment is expected to be confirmed before the team’s home series begins in September.

India are currently playing a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. India have won the first two games and have sealed the series under the new captain Suryakumar Yadav. The third T20I is scheduled to be held on July 30.
India and Sri Lanka will then play a three-match ODI series starting August 2. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will return to the side for the 50-over contest. Rohit will captain the Indian team in the series.
