BCCI To Invest In Other Sports Too Apart From Cricket? Jay Shah Shares Interesting Post

BCCI secretary Jay Shah recently shared an interesting post on Social Media which suggests that the board could be looking to invest in other sports too.

BCCI is the flag bearer of cricket in the world of cricket and its product the cash rich Indian Premier League (IPL) is among the top five most valuable sports leagues in the World. Similarly, the National Basketball Association (NBA) is also the flag bearer in Basketball. 

With BCCI's growing influence in the world of sports a recent post made by BCCI secretary Jay Shah hints at collaboration with NBA and suggests that the richest cricket board in the world might be exploring sporting ventures to invest in outside cricket. 

Jay Shah's Interesting Post Hints At Collaboration With NBA

BCCI secretary Jay Shah recently met up with the Deputy Commissioner of NBA, Mark Tatum. Jay Shah took to X to share about his meeting with Mark Tatum and remarked that it was great sharing ideas on how to grow sports alongside one of the biggest sports leagues in the world. 

“Had a fantastic meeting with Mark Tatum, the NBA Deputy Commissioner. It was great meeting you, Mark, and sharing knowledge”, wrote Jay Shah.

However, Jay Shah signed off the post with an interesting statement which hinted that both NBA and BCCI could be looking at some sort of collaboration going forward.

“Exciting times ahead for NBA and BCCI”, concluded Jay Shah. 

While, Jay Shah doesn't confirm that NBA and BCCI have got into a collaboration. His message does suggest that there could be a collaboration between the two bodies in the future.

Will BCCI invest in Basketball?

NBA over the last couple of years have identified India as a key market to grow its Basketball operations and has undertaken a lot of grassroots programs to grow the sport in India. 

If a potential partnership is to come between BCCI and NBA then BCCI could be investing to grow Basketball operations in the country. However, nothing is official as of yet and remains to be seen how NBA and BCCI progress further.
