Team India and Pakistan Cricket haven't had any bilateral series after the 26/11 attacks happened in Mumbai at 2008. Team India had traveled to PAK for the Asia Cup that year, and it was the last time they visited there to compete in matches. Both teams participated in an ODI and T20I series in India in 2012–13, India and Pakistan have not had bilateral cricket relations after that.

The 2023 Asia Cup, which was hosted in Pakistan, had to be done under the hybrid model after Team India did not travel to Pakistan. Instead, all of India's matches, including the final, were held in Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue emerged as the Asia Cup champions in 2023.

As India's refusal to send the team for the Champions Trophy remains steadfast, is yet to be seen on what will happen next. The ICC and PCB's plan of action over the scenario is yet to be determined.
