The Indian cricket team is currently busy participating in the Asia Cup 2023 but its star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is apparently spending some time playing chess. Ashwin is not part of the Asia Cup but is closely monitoring the tournament from his home in Chennai. The Indian team has played one match in the tournament thus far and it ended in a draw. The match against Pakistan was washed out resulting in both teams getting one point each.

In a bid to engage with his followers, he posed a question, inviting them to speculate on the game's outcome.

Ashwin's post not only provides a glimpse into his interests but also shows his liking for chess. Over the past few years, he has nurtured a genuine passion for chess, dedicating time to regular play during off time from cricket or while travelling with teammates. Netizens flooded the comment section with jokes and genuine questions regarding his game. 

Over the last 2 years I have been really passionate about Chess and have a habit of playing regularly, so I thought a bit of banter around the games I played would be good fun.

Ashwin is not part of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 in any capacity. He was not picked in India's squad for the tournament. Currently, he regularly posts analytical videos on his YouTube channel, including for games in the Asia Cup.
