As per reports from The Express Tribune, the ICC has been taking a hybrid model under consideration for the 2025 Champions Trophy. They have seemingly taken some steps after reports revealed that the Indian Cricket Team may not travel to Pakistan for the upcoming ICC tournament. If that is the scenario, One semifinal match could be taken away from the host nation. There are chances that this particular notion could be discussed at the upcoming ICC annual conference in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

An Asia Cup-like situation could arise for Pakistan when they have to schedule a couple of matches in Sri Lanka for Team India after they refused to travel to Pakistan for the tournament. Citing security concerns, Team India did not travel to Pakistan, leading to the Final being held in SL. Pakistan has received the chance to solely host an ICC tournament after being the co-hosts with India and Sri Lanka at the 1996 ODI World Cup. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants to avoid such a situation from happening again as they want India to travel to the country or forfeit the entire tournament. Now, the entire decision rests upon the ICC since India is one of their biggest markets, and they do not want to miss out on them.

An interesting situation will arise over the Champions Trophy hosting plans, and it is yet to be seen what measures will be taken for the same.
