David Warner has had a miserable Ashes tour as he has failed to fire all cylinders for his team throughout the five-match Test series. Coming back to the longer format of the game after the one year ban following the Sandpaper gate, expectations for David Warner to shine just like Steve Smith ran high, but the left-handed opener has left the fans high and dry. In the fourth innings of the final Test, David Warner sealed his fate as he once again was dismissed by Stuart Broad, now becoming his 'bunny' truly. Chasing a mammoth total of 399 to win the match and complete a series win, Australia have already lost both their openers after they recorded their highest stand of 14 runs and the longest opening stand of 4.3 overs in this year's Ashes edition.

David Warner becomes Stuart Broad's bunny

David Warner has been dismissed by England pacer Stuart Broad for seven times in this Ashes, making him the speedster's bunny. David Warner has been facing a lot of criticism for not being able to let his bat do the talking and has failed to perform despite getting repeated chances. Both of David Warner's dismissal in the fifth match came off Stuart Broad's deliveries and was caught at the slips. In the earlier matches, Stuart Broad dismissed David Warner for a third duck in as many Test innings at Old Trafford on Saturday as the England paceman continued to torment the Australia opener in the Ashes series. Broad, bowling from around the wicket, had left-hander Warner lbw sixth ball to leave Australia none for one in their second innings of the fourth Test. Stuart Broad also had Warner caught behind for nought in Australia's first innings 497-8 declared, having had him lbw for nought in the second innings of England's dramatic one-wicket win in the third Test at Headingley. Despite former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting's opinion that David Warner is one among the three best batsmen for Australia this summer, the left-handed opener's future in the longer format of the game looks bleak after a dismal Ashes series.

Tim Paine calls Steve Smith a 'freak'

Australian skipper Tim Paine was extremely delighted with Steve Smith's stunner as he called Steve Smith a 'freak' as he addressed the press after the day's play. Tim Paine said that they(the Australian side) were having a chat about the moment on the pitch and that it was an incredible moment. Tim Paine said that cricketers like Steve Smith and Ben Stokes were such good cricketers who were always involved in the game and their minds were cautious at all times. The skipper continued to heap praises on Steve Smith and said that after the Australian run-machine has batted for seven weeks straight, he was not surprised to see him pull out a stunner like he did at the Oval.
