Day-Night Test: List of dignitaries invited for the historic event
Day-Night Test: PM Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina to grace the historic event. Mary Kom, P.V. Sindhu also among the dignitaries.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly promised to make the first day-night test in India a 'fantastic event'. He also said that he was trying to bring Sachin Tendulkar for the historic game.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) agreed to India's proposal of playing the second Test against India at Eden Gardens under lights and this will be the first-ever day-night Test for both teams. The match will be played between November 22-26, 2019.
Day-Night Test Match: Prime Ministers of both the countries will grace the historic occasion
If things fall in place, the historic day-night at the Eden Gardens could see the Prime Ministers of the two countries in attendance. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have been invited for the historic Test between the Asian countries. According to reports, invites have been sent by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to both the Prime Ministers to grace the historic occasion.
Tennis veteran and local lad Leander Paes and Indian national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand could also be among the dignitaries to be present during India's first-ever Day-Night Test against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens later this month.
Chess great Viswanathan Anand and tennis star Sania Mirza are expected to be there present along with P.V. Sindhu who is the World badminton champion, pugilist Mary Kom who is a six-time World champion and India's only Olympic gold medal winner Abhinav Bindra, whom the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) plans to felicitate.
CAB is also planning a charity match for HIV-positive children during the 40-minute supper break on the first day of the pink ball test. According to sources, the first day could witness a helicopter going around the stadium from which a skydiver will come flying on to the ground carrying the trophy in his hand.
The tickets are priced as low as Rs 50, and they will have a tint of pink on them to mark the historic occasion. A picture of the iconic Eden Gardens will be printed behind every ticket.
