Double Trouble for India: Mohammad Shami ruled out of SA Test series, Chahar withdraws from ODIs
Indian World Cup hero, Mohammad Shami has been ruled out of the South Africa Test Series, and the star Deepak Chahar has withdrawn from the ODI Series.
After their T20I series finished in a tie, the Indian Cricket Team will now face South Africa in a three-match ODI series. The first T20I was washed out, South Africa won the second game using the DLS method, and the Suryakumar-led squad won the final match by 106 runs to draw the series. The inaugural One-Day International (ODI) will be played on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Wanderers Stadium.

Shami Ruled Out of South Africa Test Series, Deepak Chahar Withdraws from ODI Series
Mohammad Shami, India's seasoned fast bowler, has been ruled out of the forthcoming two-match Test series against South Africa, which begins on December 26 in Centurion. The BCCI has officially declared that Shami, from Amroha, has not got medical clearance, resulting in his absence from the highly anticipated Test visit to the Rainbow Nation.
Another big news is that India's ODI bowler Deepak Chahar has pulled out of the upcoming South Africa series. The BCCI has revealed that Chahar is attending to a medical issue at his residence, causing him to request that his name be removed from the roster.
Akash Deep to replace Chahar in the ODIs
Deepak Chahar has informed the BCCI that he will be unable to play in the forthcoming ODI series owing to a family medical issue. As a result, Akash Deep has been named as his substitute by the Men's Selection Committee.
Mohammad Shami, whose participation in the Test series was conditional on fitness, has not obtained approval from the BCCI Medical Team and will miss the two Tests.
Shreyas Iyer will join the Test team following the end of the first ODI in Johannesburg on December 17th to prepare for the Test series. He will, however, miss the second and third ODIs and solely participate in the inter-squad game.
Team India (Senior Men) coaching team, which includes Head Coach Rahul Dravid, Batting Coach Vikram Rathour, Bowling Coach Paras Mhambrey, and Fielding Coach T. Dilip, will accompany the Test squad to oversee preparations for the inter-squad game and the Test series.
The India A coaching staff, batting Coach Sitanshu Kotak, Bowling Coach Rajib Datta, and Fielding Coach make up the ODIs. Ajay Ratra will assist the ODI team.
