Canada began its campaign with a 53 run win against Jersey. Nitish Kumar was the star with the bat scoring 83 runs from 36 balls helping Canada reach 176/5 in their 20 overs. Nigeria did not have a great start to the tournament as their bowlers leaked out runs to help Jersey score 184/4 in 20 overs. In reply, the Nigerian batsman could only make 115/7 playing their full quota of 20 overs to lose the match by 69 runs.
