Former Bangladesh Captain Tamim Iqbal Returns Home From Hospital After Suffering Cardiac Arrest As Health Improves
Former Bangladeshi captain Tamim Iqbal recently suffered a cardiac arrest during a local game in Bangladesh.

Former Bangladesh Cricket captain Tamim Iqbal recently suffered a cardiac arrest during a local cricket game. Tamim Iqbal was captaining Mohammedan Sporting Club in a fifty over match of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League when he suffered the attack. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and then later moved to a much bigger facility as he was given surgery. Now the former Bangladesh Cricket Team captain has been discharged from hospital as he works on his recovery.
Tamim Iqbal Discharged Following Heart Attack
Tamim Iqbal was admitted to Evercare Hospital from where he was discharged on 28th March 2025. After Tamim Iqbal was discharged from hospital, a doctor from the hospital provided an update on Tamim Iqbal and him being discharged from hospital.
"After observing his health condition, we have decided to discharge him today. We hope he will be able to return to cricket soon," said Shahabuddin Talukder who is a doctor at Evercare Hospital in Bangladesh.
The doctor further added that Tamim Iqbal will have to maintain an extremely healthy lifestyle as he looks to recover after the heart attack.
Bangladesh Health Ministry On Tamim Iqbal's Health
Following Tamim Iqbal's discharge from hospital, Abu Zafar who is a member of Bangladesh's health ministry further provided updates on the cricketers road to recovery. He also revealed that Tamim Iqbal is a smoker and as he looks to recover he will have to quit his habit. He also revealed that Tamim will not be able to play cricket for the next three months.
"Tamim won't be able to play sports for the next three months. If everything goes well, then he will be able to return. Unfortunately, he is a smoker, which is a risk factor for heart attacks. He must stay away from it. He will have to follow doctors' advice," said Abu Zafar of the Bangladesh Health Ministry.
