Rohit Sharma-led Team India succumbed to a shocking 2-0 ODI series against Sri Lanka. The Indian batters were exposed on slow and turning tracks and failed to rescue the team. The series which was considered to be a cakewalk for the Indian cricket team has now raised many alarming question about the Indian batter's capability to play spin bowling. This is certainly not the start that Gautam Gambhir might have wanted in his first collaboration with Rohit Sharma.

The T20 World Cup is now a thing of the past and the Indian team still has a lot of cricket to play this year, especially the 'Down Under' series. This will be followed by the Champions Trophy to be played in Pakistan earlier next year. Though India's participation is doubtful, but if the 'men in blue' participate, they will have to counter the Asian conditions and hence the BCCI, collectively with the selectors and Head Coach Gambhir are possibly trying out a new strategy.

Domestic Calling For Team India Stars

Team India play a two-match home Test series against Bangladesh that begins on September 18. These Test matches are quite crucial as they are a part of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. As per reports the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants the top Indian stars to participate in the upcoming Duleep Trophy.
