Team India's latest win at the Kanpur Test Match was something which will go down in the record books. They managed to make history after breaking multiple records in the match-up and eventually winning it all despite losing almost 2.5 days of play. The Gautam Gambhir era has helped the players to take risks and be more open towards their approach. The prime example was when the Men in Blue dished out their version of Bazball against Bangladesh to win the match, which had a high possibility of ending in a draw. Head coach Gambhir was delighted with India's approach and laid out a challenge to the team ahead of the BGT challenge.

Gautam Gambhir Wants Team India to Adapt and Rake Up 400 Runs in One Day

While speaking to the media at the pre-match press conference in Bengaluru, Gautam Gambhir singles out Team India's versatility to go all in during tests and not stick to the conservative approach. He also expresses the challenge he has for his side and wants them to be the team which can secure a win like they did in Kanpur.

"We want to be the team that can score 400 runs in a day and can bat for two days to save a Test match as well. And that is the growth and adaptability that we are looking for. And that is what Test cricket is really. We have batters in the dressing room who can do both.

"The first motive always is to win, and in case a situation arises where we have to play for a draw, then that is our second and third option," Gautam Gambhir said.

Team India will be under unfavorable and hostile conditions when they travel to Australia this year for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. The Rohit Sharma -led side's aggressive intent could come in handy against Australia. With the World Test Championship Final on the line, India needs only three wins to secure their spot in the final, and their sensational form would help them big-time as they move further in their Test schedule.
