Gautam Gambhir's Salary: How Much Money GG Could Earn As New Head Coach of Team India?

Gautam Gambhir has been appointed as the new head coach of Team India. Gambhir will take over operations following the culmination of India's tour of Zimbabwe. The series against Sri Lanka, which is scheduled to start on July 27, will be Gambhir's first assignment as the new coach.

Gautam Gambhir's probable salary

Rahul Dravid, whose tenure as Team India's head coach recently ended, was reportedly drawing an annual salary of Rs 12 crore. Gambhir on the other hand is expected to rake in an even higher sum. There were reports that the delay in BCCI's announcement was caused due to his salary negotiations and it was made after a mutual agreement.  

As the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, Gautam Gambhir was believed to be earning a whopping amount of Rs. 25 crores. If that figure was genuine, then coaching a national team is a whole different level and comes with major perks as compared to a service of two months. The job of a national coach is much more taxing hence the monetary benefits that would be attached to the position of a head coach would justify the enormous amount of responsibility. Therefore, chances are Gambhir would earn more than Rs. 25 crore as head coach of Team India.

Since salary comes under the head of sensitive information there are doubts that the precise number will ever be revealed. However, if the reports are to be believed then Gambhir's salary could be in the same pay band as was the amount he was fetching in IPL. Yet, nothing could be gauged as long as a confirmation regarding the same would be made.
