'Switch in mindset': Ashwin reacts to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma being rested in T20Is
Indian cricket team spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has supported Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's step to skip the T20I format for the ODI World Cup.

Team India batter Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma have been one of the most important pillars of the Indian cricket team in the last five to six years. Kohli and Rohit have won the Indian team many matches on their own and have registered many memorable wins for the 'Men in Blue'. Apart from being matchwinners, both the players are being constantly rested from the T20I format after the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Veteran Indian cricket team spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has defended Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for skipping the T20I series after the T20 World Cup 2022. Ashwin while speaking on his YouTube channel said:
From 50 overs to 20 overs, there is a complete switch in mindset. Both [Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma] of them skipping and getting ready for the 50-over World Cup is a good decision and personally, both of them know their cricket very well since they have been playing for such a long time. So, they are using their experience and want to concentrate on the 50-over World Cup, which is exactly the right thing to do.

Team India starts to prepare for T20 World Cup 2024
Apart from Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the Indian team management has started to build a core team for the upcoming T20 World Cup, all set to be held in 2024. Hardik Pandya has been the anchor of the team, and the 'Men in Blue' has done extremely well in the shorter format under the leadership of the right-handed all-rounder. The Indian team recently lost to West Indies in the five-match T20I series by a scoreline of 3-2 and now is taking on Ireland in a three-match series under the captaincy of Jasprit Bumrah.
