Maxwell's fourth T20 ton also brought him beside Indian captain Rohit Sharma and now both batsmen have the most centuries in the shortest international format. Apart from Glenn Maxwell, Indian batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad also achieved his maiden T20I ton in the match and played an innings of 123 runs from 53 balls which included a total of 13 fours and seven sixes. He also played an important role in helping India to achieve a first-inning score of 222/3. However. Gaikwad's innings went in vain and the Indian team lost the match courtesy of a brilliant chase from the Australian team.
