‘Not My Business’: Harmanpreet Hits Back at Journalist’s ‘Lack of Grip in Women’s Cricket’ Inquiry

Harmanpreet Kaur delivered a mouth-shutting response to a journalist who asked about the lack of interest on women's cricket ahead of the Women's Asia Cup.

The Women's Asia Cup 2024 is all set to begin with immense fervor in Sri Lanka this year. A historic rivalry will be reignited once again as Team India and Pakistan Cricket will face off in the second match of the ACC tournament. The continental tournament will witness a lot of Asian Countries in action as the women's team of hosts Sri Lanka, UAE, Nepal, UAE, and more will feature as the roads lead to the upcoming Women's World Cup in Bangladesh. But before the tournament could even begin, Team India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur stirred the pot after her response to a journalist's question caused a furor.

Harmanpreet Kaur Delivers a Mouth-Shutting Reply to Joutnalist’s ‘Lack of Interest in Women's Cricket’ Query

At the pre-tournament press conference, all the team's skippers were answering the journalists' questions when one of them asked about the cricket fans' lack of interest in women's cricket during India's tour of Bangladesh in the month of April as he pointed out that very little journalists showed up for the media scrums. He also asked her to present an opinion on the scenario. Harmanpreet did not hold back as her response was as blunt as it could be as it effectively shut the reporter in an instant.

"Well, that's none of my business. You guys have to come and cover us," Harmanpreet bluntly replied.

Harmanpreet Kaur has been a skipper known for her aggression and for standing up against the things she feels are wrong. At the India-Bangladesh series, the India Women's Team skipper was displeased with the match umpire's officiating as she angrily slammed the bat to the stumps.

At the post-match presentation, Kaur expressed her dissent over the poor officiating and also called out the umpires when the India and Bangladesh skippers shared the title after the series was levelled.

The Indian Women's Cricket Team will be in action as their opening Asia Cup fixture is set to take place in Sri Lanka, and they will face Pakistan. The Indo-Pak rivalry will be in action today at 07:00 PM IST.
