Harshit Rana's Inspiring Journey to Shed 17 Kgs; His Father's Influence As He Receives Dream Call-up

Kolkata Knight Riders ' blazing pacer, Harshit Rana, has received his maiden Test cricket call-up right for Team India. What makes it more special is that the standout Indian pacer could make his debut against the WTC Champions, Australia, while down under. Rana finds a spot after Mohammed Shami was not picked as he recovers from his injury. Harshit Rana has a chance to shine after making waves in the IPL 2024 season for the Knight Riders. But the pace bowler's route to professional cricket was not easy as he had to battle through injuries during his teenage.
How Did Harshit Rana Tackled being Injury Prone To Become IPL's Top Sensation?
Harshit Rana got a lot of motivation after watching India deliver a fighting comeback against Australia in the BGT series. It inspired the Delhi pacer to compete for the national side. But as he progressed, Rana dealt with a slew of injuries, and he had to pace through the pain as he dealt with multiple fractures. Rana's father Pradeep, who represented the CRPF in weightlifting and hammer throw, opened up on how he took his son through various hospitals and even sought an Ayurvedic way to heal his son's issues.
“First it was back, then it was groin, then calf and a niggle in the shoulder. Every part of his body was injured. During that time I had taken him to many hospitals just to understand why he is breaking down. I even took him to an Ayurveda facility in Najafgarh. Whatever knowledge I gained from watching videos, and reading news items, I tried everything,” Pradeep said to the Indian Express.

Reports also add that to cope with his health and manage his fitness, Harshit Rana worked hard to shed 17 kgs in an attempt to evade injury issues in the future. The hamstring damage put him out of action for the entire 2023-24 season of the Ranji Trophy stuck realization on the Delhi-based pacer. He remains injury-free as of now and is fast-tracked to be a part of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series in Australia.
