Virat Kohli closes in on Sachin Tendulkar's ODI century record
It is often said that records are meant to be broken, but in the case of Sachin Tendulkar, the phrase carried lesser weight. However, in the last decade, the sport witnessed the emergence and dominance of Virat Kohli, who is now seen in the same light as the great master blaster. While Kohli is still more than 5000 runs away from breaching the ODI mark of Tendulkar, believe it or not, he is just 4 centuries away from getting to the 50 centuries in the 50-over format, thereby can soon leave Sachin Tendulkar behind.

Robin Uthappa says Virat Kohli does not care about breaking records anymore
With the Asia Cup 2023 and ICC ODI World Cup 2023 hovering, one could expect that 2023 might turn out to be the year when Kohli will go past Tendulkar in the total centuries' (ODI) aspect. It would be a historic personal achievement but according to Robin Uthappa, Kohli is least concerned about it. As per Uthappa, Kohli is more focused on taking India towards victory rather than attaining personal goals.
"Virat doesn't really care about breaking records anymore. We as people and fans are obsessed with it. He would much rather win matches for India irrespective of those hundreds. Virat's focus will be on winning matches for India in the Asia Cup and World Cup. He doesn't really care about the records," Uthappa said during a media interaction on Jio Cinema.
