As good as he is with the bat and on the field marshalling his troops, India Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma does not possess the same potential when it comes to recalling things at will. Sharma is known for his cryptic sentences and regarding that Virat Kohli once even generated laughs during an interview by putting forward Rohit's tendency to forget things. Kohli's revelation gave social media users meme material, which is still pretty much relevant.

Vikram Rathour praises Rohit Sharma

While Rohit Sharma may not have the memory power to boast about, what matters most are his instincts as a player and there are not many who could claim that they can outmatch Rohit in that aspect. Paying heed to the same, former India batting coach Vikram Rathour has showered praise on Rohit Sharma. According to Rathour, Sharma may forget what he has opted for at the toss, but what needs to be done on the pitch remains at the top of his head.

“He might forget whether he has decided to bat or bowl at the toss, or his phone and iPad in the team bus but he never forgets his gameplan. He is very good at it and is a very shrewd tactician,” Rathour said on the podcast “Find a Way with Taruwar Kohli.”

Vikram Rathour joined Team India's coaching staff during Ravi Shastri's tenure when Virat Kohli was the captain. Following the Kohli-Shastri era, Rathour became a key element in the Rahul Dravid-Rohit Sharma regime. He was in the position when India reached the WTC and ODI World Cup final in 2023 and was also a part of the glory that Team India attained in 2024 in the T20 format. His stint concluded following the end of Rahul Dravid's reign as the head coach of Team India.
