India obliterated Pakistan by 228 runs in Asia Cup 2023

As it was a huge ask for Pakistan, it was always a case of whether or may for them. It turns out the Green Army was made to surrender before anybody had expected and India registered its biggest over the arch-rivals. There were at least three candidates for the Man of the Match award, and the match officials adjudged Virat Kohli as the deserved winner. This was Kohli's 47th ODI ton of career, and with it, he is only two behind the great Sachin Tendulkar.

Waqar Younis says Kohli will score more centuries than anybody could think

While a heavy consensus says that he is expected to go past Tendulkar soon and could script history in this ODI season only, former Pakistan bowler Waqar Yunis has seconded that stance. According to the ex-pacer, Kohli is nowhere close to being done and will end up with may more than what can be assumed. Here's what he said on air at a Star Sports program.

"The difference between him and other players, even Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar, when he finished, had 49 hundreds (ODIs). I can promise you Virat is a long way from finishing his career or being done with cricket. He will end up with a lot more (hundreds) than anybody can think,".

Though the personal milestones are looming, Kohli's focus would be on the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023. He is likely to play a key role for Team India in the forthcoming cricket carnival and is among the contenders to potentially finish as the top scorer of the World Cup. The World Cup will commence from October 5, 2023.
