'I met her in..': Yuvraj Singh Confirms Died Down Romance, Fans Speculate It was Deepika Padukone

Yuvraj Singh was the bearer of major headlines back in 2008/09 when India toured Australia for Tests and a triangular series that also featured Sri Lanka along with India and Australia. The left-hander was a key figure in the team, however, he struggled for runs throughout the stretch which brought him into the mainstream. His performance was under scrutiny but his personal life garnered even more attention during the tour. The rumours were rife that Yuvraj Singh and Deepika Padukone , who was a newcomer at that time in Bollywood, were dating.

Yuvraj Singh Confirms Half-a-Decade Old Rumour

Nothing concrete ever appeared about what was asserted between Yuvraj Singh and Deepika Padukone back in the day. Subsequently, after the culmination of the tour, all the tittle-tattle died down. The subject did not get much air afterwards but recently during a session on Club Prairie Fire YouTube channel, the former Indian batsman recalled the tour and revealed that he indeed was dating an actress at that time. He did not take the name of the celebrity but narrated an instance that took place between him and the actress.

“I was dating an actress, I won't name her; (She is) very good at the moment and very experienced. She was shooting in Adelaide. I told her, listen, let's not meet for a bit because I'm on Australia tour, and need to focus. She followed me to Canberra in the bus. In two Tests, I didn't get many runs. And I was like, 'what are you doing here?' And she was like, ‘I want to spend time with you’,” Yuvraj began.

“So, I met her in the night and we began chatting. I told her you need to focus on your career and I need to focus on mine, because I'm on Australia tour and you know what that means. Anyway, we were leaving for Adelaide from Canberra and she packed my suitcase.”

Yuvraj Singh later married Hazel Keech. The couple has two children.
