Pat Cummins had fired a warning to the Indian crowd

Team India had looked destined to lift their third World Cup title due to their sheer domination during the group stage and knockouts. They even defeated Australia in a one-sided game in a round-robin match and arrived at the final with utmost confidence. But Pat Cummins and Co. lived up to the hype and delivered when it mattered the most.

Ahead of the game, Cummins fired a warning to the Indian crowd as the Narendra Modi Stadium did house a full-packed of supporters in the game. “The crowd’s obviously going to be very one-sided but, in sport there’s nothing more satisfying than hearing a big crowd go silent and that’s the aim for us tomorrow.”

The Australian skipper opened up on his best moment from the World Cup final

On being asked about the one moment he would cherish for the rest of his life, the Australian skipper replied, “I think the Virat Kohli wicket. I was obviously very pumped."

"And then we’re in the huddle after that wicket, and Steve Smith says, ‘boys, listen to the crowd for a second.’ And we just took a moment of pause, and it was as quiet as a library; a hundred thousand Indians there, and it was so quiet. I’ll savour that moment for a long time.”

Virat Kohli was batting in a convincing way but while defending a short of a delivery from Cummins the ball hit his own stumps and it proved to be a major point as India crumbled on their way to losing another World Cup final.
