Indian skipper Virat Kohli and pace master Jasprit Bumrah, despite not having played an ODI since August, have retained their top spots in the ICC ODI Player Rankings. India played the last ODI against West Indies in the third game of the series and Kohli had notched up a century which helped India clinch the series 2-0.

In the latest rankings, Kohli remains at the first position with 895 rating points followed by Vice-captain Rohit Sharma in the second spot with 863 rating points. On the other hand, Bumrah continues to lead the way in the latest rankings for bowlers as he holds the spot with 797 rating points with  Trent Boult in the second position with 740 rating points to his name. India will play its next ODI series when they host West Indies in a three-game series in December.

While in the all-rounder list the only Indian to feature is Hardik Pandya who stands at 10th spot with 246 rating points. England’s World Cup hero Ben Stokes reportedly tops the charts with 319 rating points.

Kohli hits the nets

Indian skipper Virat Kohli hit the nets at the team's practice on November 12. In an impressive display of athleticism, the captain was seen practising challenging shots as he slammed the pink ball with his iconic drives and blocks. This comes ahead of the first Day/Night Test (the second Test in the series) which India is scheduled to play on November 22, against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens which will feature the pink ball. With a lot of speculation surrounding the pink ball's behaviour, the Indian team has ensured to prepare well in advance. Earlier in the day, Indian batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane who have played with the pink ball in domestic cricket said that the team is confident of adapting to the new feature.

Jasprit Bumrah recovering well

According to media reports, sources in the BCCI have revealed that Jasprit Bumrah is on auto-healing mode and is on the track of proper recovery. The source said that Jasprit Bumrah has begun light exercises alongside running and said that he will be assessed after Diwali. India's bowling coach Bharat Arun said he was expecting Jasprit Bumrah to return for the series against New Zealand and clarified that Jasprit Bumrah does not require surgery, according to media reports. Jasprit Bumrah had suffered from a similar stress fracture earlier which had healed naturally, just like this one.
