Ind vs NZ: Once Will Young missed one down the leg-side and the umpire did not raise his finger despite an appeal, Sarfaraz Khan convinced Rohit Sharma to take the DRS. First, it was a lovely take by Rishabh Pant as balls down the leg side are hard to collect. Ravi Ashwin, the bowler was not fully convinced, but Sarfaraz, who was at leg-slip, was convinced and finally Rohit had to take the DRS. As it turned out, Young had got a deflection on that and was given out. It was a big breakthrough for India as NZ were starting to stitch a partnership. Here is how Sarfaraz convinced Rohit to take the DRS, the clip is now going viral.

CURRENT SCENARIO

Meanwhile, at the time of filing the copy, lunch was taken and New Zealand were two down for 96. Rachin Ravindra has walked in to join Devon Conway. Ashwin has picked up both the wickets. It is a good pitch to bat on, unlike the one in Bengaluru on day one.

"When you play a Test match like that, the first session didn't go our way. But we batted well in the second innings. We take a lot of positives from that and see how we can turn things around here. Always want to find ways to get back into the Test match when you're behind," Rohit said at the toss.

After lunch, India will look for an early breakthrough to make inroads into the middle-order of the New Zealand line-up. The pitch is a good one to bat on and hence it will not be easy for the Indian bowlers to run through the NZ batting.
