Ind vs SA Live: Agarwal and Pujara share 138-run stand before Tea

Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara shared a 138-run partnership on Day 1 before Tea. India won the first Test by 203 runs and currently lead the series 1-0.

After winning the opening match of the series, Team India will be looking to extend their dominance over the visiting South African team in the remaining Tests. The Indian team is currently on an unbeaten streak at home, winning 10 series in a row since 2013. With a win in the ongoing Test, the host’s will achieve a world record of winning 11 consecutive series on home soil. The Proteas are currently on a tour to India for 3 T20Is and 3 Test matches. The T20I series ended in a draw last month after the opening game ended in a wash-out in Dharamshala. The second Test started today at the MCA Stadium in Pune with the hosts leading the series 1-0 after their 203-run win in Visakhapatnam.

IND vs SA Second Test 

After losing Rohit Sharma earlier in the day, opening batsman Mayank Agarwal and India’s number 3 Cheteshwar Pujara, formed an unbeaten 52-run partnership to see India safely negotiate the remaining over till lunch break. India resumed their post-lunch session play at 77-1 in 25 overs.

At 77-1, the two Indian batsmen started where they had left-off before lunch break. Both batsmen scored their respective half-centuries and shared a 138-run partnership. Pujara was finally dismissed at 58 to become Rabada’s second victim of the innings. Pujara’s innings came off 112 balls with nine fours and one hit across the ropes. At 163-2, Indian skipper Virat Kohli joined Agarwal to the crease to see-off the remaining few deliveries till tea break.

Mayank Agarwal is currently unbeaten on 86 and will be looking to score his second century of the series in as many matches. Virat Kohli is yet to open his account as Team India ended the session at 168-2 after 53 overs.
