Shahbaz Nadeem made his debut in the ongoing third Test between India and South Africa. In doing so, he became the 296th Indian player to represent the country in Test cricket. After playing 110 first-class matches for Jharkhand, the left-arm spinner finally achieved his life-long dream of playing in the oldest format of the game. Co-incidentally, his debut also came at his home ground in Ranchi. The 30-year old cricketer was included in the playing XI in place of leading pacer Ishant Sharma.

As Team India posted a mammoth 497-9d in their first-innings, Nadeem contributed his part with the ball with debut figures of 2-22 in 11.2 overs. He dismissed Temba Bavuma with a stumping to claim his first international wicket. However, it is a rare occurrence for a bowler to get a stumping in his very first match, making it a special moment. Let us have a look at three more spinners who have achieved the same feat in the past.
