After the first match was washed out, both India and South Africa were preparing themselves to win the second T20I. The teams couldn’t play the first match because of heavy rainfall at Dharamshala. Both the captains, Virat Kohli and Quinton de Kock were ready with their high spirited team to face each other at Mohali in the second match. The two teams re-shuffled their line up for the match.

 The eleven players on the field for Indian Cricket team according to their batting line up were: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, R. Jadeja, Krunal Pandya, W Sundar, D Chahar and Saini.

The South African team line up was Quinton De-Kock, R Hendricks, Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen, Miller, Pretorius, Andile Phehlukwayo, Fortuin, Rabada, Nortje and Shamsi. The two captains stood on the field for the toss. India won the toss against SA and chose to field. India won the match with seven wickets in hand.

R Hendricks early wicket by D Chahar: Reeza Hendricks tried hitting Chahar’s ball but he couldn’t connect the bat properly. Sundar in mid-on effortlessly caught the ball giving India an edge over South Africa.

Bavuma goes back without a half-century: Chahar struck again as his knuckleball does the trick. Bavuma gets caught by Jadeja. The slow bowler confused the batsman and took the wicket.

Hardik Pandya takes a wicket: David Miller in the race to get more runs for the team missed the shot and gets bowled by Hardik Pandya.

Rohit Sharma’s two sixes in the early over: Rohit Sharma slammed two sixes against Anrich Nortje. 

Shikhar Dhawan’s Six to Fortuin’s ball: Shikhar Dhawan hit a massive six over the mid-wicket on Fortuin’s last ball of the over. Shikhar used a sweep shot against Fortuin’s ball which fell right in the slot.

Virat Kohli’s 22nd fifty in T20 cricket: It was a moment of celebration when Virat Kohli completed his 22nd half-century in T20 cricket leaving Rohit Sharma behind. His quick score of 50 runs in 40 balls helped India win.

Virat Kohli’s six over the bowler: Virat Kohli hit the ball over the bowler and the ball goes out of the boundary line. With this six, Virat Kohli breaks Rohit Sharma’s T20 record of 2434 runs with 2441 runs.
