Jasprit Bumrah, India's ace fast bowler, has built a reputation as one of the most lethal bowlers in world cricket. Known for his unorthodox action, beaming yorkers, and ability to perform under pressure, Bumrah has faced some of the best batters across the globe. However, when asked about the toughest batter to bowl at, Bumrah's response reveals the mindset that has made him a force to be reckoned with on the field.

Jasprit Bumrah shows why he is the best bowler

In a recent video, Jasprit Bumrah candidly shared his thoughts, saying, "Look, I want to give a good answer, but the real factor is that I don’t want anyone to take over me in my head. I respect everyone but, in my head, I tell myself that if I do my job well, there’s nobody in the world who can stop me."

"So I look at myself rather than the opponent I think that I have control over everything and if I give myself the best opportunity, everything else will take care of itself rather than giving the power to the batsman that he’ll get better of me or he’s better than me," he added.

Jasprit Bumrah is currently taking a well-deserved break after helping India win the T20 World Cup 2024. Having played a crucial role in India's T20 World Cup victory, he has been rested in light of the busy schedule ahead, which includes several Test matches where he will be needed to deliver long bowling spells.

India's next challenge is a two-match Test series against Bangladesh, with the first match scheduled to begin on September 19. Bumrah is expected to rejoin the Indian cricket team for this bilateral series. However, the biggest assignment for Bumrah and Team India this year will be the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia. The five-match contest will play a major role in deciding if India will play the final of the World Test Championship for the third time.
