Gautam Gambhir has officially taken over as the new head coach of Indian Cricket Team after the announcement by BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Tuesday evening.
As the Gautam Gambhir era for Team India begins, BCCI has announced the fixtures and schedule for Gautam Gambhir's debut series spearheading the men in blue.
Fixtures For Gautam Gambhir's Debut Series
BCCI revealed that Gautam Gambhir's first assignment as the head coach of Indian Cricket Team will be against Sri Lanka in an away series.
India will play three ODIs and three T20Is against Sri Lanka starting from July and it will be a good opportunity for Gautam Gambhir to settle into his new job and get to work with the ICC Champions Trophy and World Test Championship in sight in 2025.

BCCI has announced the fixtures of India's tour of Sri Lanka. India will play a three match T20 series and three match ODI series. The tour starts from July 26 with first T20I and August 7 with third ODI.

Kohli and Rohit Likely To Be Rested Against Sri Lanka
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are likely to be rested for Gautam Gambhir's first assignment as head coach against Sri Lanka. While both the stalwarts announced their retirement from T20 internationals after victorious T20 World Cup 2024 they will continue to play ODIs and Tests.
According to reports, both Kohli and Rohit are rested for the ODI against Sri Lanka in lieu of the series against New Zealand, South Africa later this year and then the highly anticipated Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
