'14 crores': R Ashwin shares prediction for IPL auctions, names surprising pick to break the bank

The Indian Premier League (IPL) will hold its first auction outside of India tomorrow. Total 333 players will go under the hammer on December 19 at Dubai's Coca-Cola Arena, but only 70 spots will be filled, 30 of which are set aside for overseas players. Further breaking down the total, there are 214 Indians, 119 international players, and the final two are from associate countries. Furthermore, out of all the players registered for the mini-auction, 215 are uncapped and 116 are capped.

R Ashwin's gives his prediction in a unique way

Legends and seasoned cricket players have been giving their opinions on possible purchases and who might shatter the record for the most expensive player at an IPL auction as the big day draws near. Senior bowler Ravichandran Ashwin gave his predictions for the IPL auction on Sunday, but in a far different fashion . 

Ashwin posted a video on his Instagram account in which he used cricket shots to determine a price range and then named the players who have been in talks for the IPL auction for the past week.

Ashwin's price range according to shots:

Defense: 2 -4 crores

Drive: 4 to 7 crores

Pull: 7 to 10 crores

Slog: 10-14 crores

Helicopter shot: 14+ crores.
