Aussie pacers stole the show

Ahead of the start of the IPL 2024 auction, the most popular wondering was who would become the most expensive signing at the event, and whether Sam Surran's record would break. Turns out Curran's Rs. 18.50 crore pole has been superseded not once but twice. The Aussie pacers Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc rocked the auction and became the first firsts to breach the 20 crore mark.

Cummins went to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 20.50 crore, and if that wasn't enough, Mitchell Starc went on to break all the records. At a winning bid of 24.75 crore, Starc was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders, and thereby with that sort of price he became the most experienced signing in the history of IPL.

Aside from Starc and Cummins, Daryl Mitchell also emerged as a player with a whopping signing amount, and from India, Harshal Patel proved to be the costliest of them all. On another end, Sameer Rizvi and Kumar Kushagra were the standouts from the uncapped list. To gauge further clarity, let's take a look at the list of players for whom the franchises went all out.
