IPL 2024: RCB's latest recruit banned after intimidating umpire before match in Big Bash League

England all-rounder Tom Curran has been handed a four-match ban in the Big Bash League (BBL) after being found guilty of intimidating the umpire. The Sydney Sixers player was involved in an altercation with the match official before their BBL 13 match against Hobart Hurricanes on Monday, December 11.

A recently released video provides a clear depiction of the altercation between Curran and the match official. It has been reported that the fourth umpire, responsible for overseeing the pitch during breaks in play, attempted to intervene and prevent Curran's actions. Curran was stepping on the pitch despite being warned by the official.
As a result, Curran is now facing a Level 3 offence charge under the Cricket Australia code of conduct.
