IPL Retention, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG): After dominating the first two seasons, the Lucknow Super Giants momentum tapered off in the 2024 season when they finished seventh and it seemed like they were really struggling to win and finish games. KL Rahul 's leadership faced a lot of criticism and it became worse because his bat was also not doing the talking. Multiple reports claim that the franchise may release Rahul and if that happens he could break the bank if he enters the auction pool. Reports also suggest that a number of teams would be interested in acquiring his services. If all this is true, LSG would look for a new captain.

Nicholas Pooran - 1st Choice Retention? 

Some reports claim he was in Kolkata with the owner of the franchise and he may have already inked a deal. While nothing can be confirmed as of now, it is believed that Pooran may become LSG's first-choice retention. He is a dynamite with the bat, can clear any boundary and is a proven match-winner. 

Mayank - The Tearaway Pacer

There are talks that the Super Giants are inclined to hold onto the tearaway pacer from UP, Mayank Yadav. Mayank is express and raw, he also has age on his side. 

Ayush Badoni - Pint-Sized Dynamo

The batter is in good form and the scouts would be knowing all about that and hence he would be another candidate likely to be retained. Badoni is a pint-sized dynamo who can change games on it's head.

Mohsin Khan - Wasim Akram Vibes

The left-arm pacer provides variety to the attack and with his disciplined lines and lengths, he is a good candidate to be retained by the Super Giants. Mohsin could be looked at as a wise investment.
